How the conversion works
Your pay is first converted to a yearly amount using the hours per week and weeks per year you enter. Every other period is then derived from that yearly figure, so all rows are consistent with each other.
Weekly pay is the yearly amount divided by the weeks you work, biweekly is twice that, monthly is the yearly amount divided by 12, and hourly divides the yearly amount by your total yearly hours.
The optional deduction rate multiplies the yearly gross by one minus the rate, and the same conversions are then applied. Real taxes are rarely a single flat rate, so the result is only an illustration of "what if I kept this share".
Formulas used
Annual = Hourly × Hours per week × Weeks per year
Annual = Weekly × Weeks per year | Monthly × 12
Hourly = Annual ÷ (Hours per week × Weeks per year)
After flat deduction = Gross × (1 − Rate ÷ 100) Worked example
25.00 per hour, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year:
- Yearly hours: 40 × 52 = 2,080
- Annual: 25.00 × 2,080 = 52,000.00
- Weekly: 52,000 ÷ 52 = 1,000.00
- Monthly: 52,000 ÷ 12 = 4,333.33
Annual income (gross): $52,000.00.
Assumptions and limits
- Pay is constant all year. Overtime, bonuses, unpaid leave and raises are not included.
- Use fewer than 52 weeks if you have unpaid time off; the weekly and hourly figures adjust accordingly.
- The flat deduction applies one rate to everything and ignores tax brackets, credits, contributions and benefits. It is not a tax calculation.
- The currency choice only changes how amounts are displayed. No exchange rates are applied.
- Periods are equivalent by construction: every figure comes from the same yearly amount, so converting any row back gives the same yearly total.
